Third Act Regional Groups

General Description

Lead: Laurel Green. Send an email to Laurel. Click here.
Encourage grassroots organization regionally, or by county, to promote camaraderie and results-focused actions on climate and democracy at the local, statewide, and national level.

Positive Effect on the Climate Crisis and Democracy
Creating and supporting local networks of active TA VT members builds a foundation of active TA VT members who will participate in TA campaigns that take tangible actions to reduce GHG and enhance democracy.

Goals

Establish regional groups in each of Vermont’s 14 counties, or based on logical social geography for that part of the state.

  • Email all TA VT members in the county and invite them to help organize their locale.
  • Members of the Coordinating Committee who are available come to an in person meeting to help launch the Regional Group in coordination with the local leaders.
The Regional Group selects one or more projects to begin working together and tie in with the statewide organizer.

Support Regional Group leaders.

  • Schedule and lead quarterly meetings for the leaders of Regional Groups. These meetings could include checking in, reports of successes and lessons learned, brainstorming ways to strengthen the Regional Groups in the future.
  • Offer trainings on a particular topic by leaders of TA VT Campaigns
